Overview

Atopic dermatitis (AD), a type of eczema, is a chronic, relapsing, pruritic, inflammatory condition that is often associated with allergic rhinitis and/or asthma.

Onset is usually seen in infants and children, but AD onset may occur in all age groups.

The condition may persist into, or even arise in, adulthood and is increasingly recognized in older adults.
